I very boringly tend to stick to my palette of mostly black, grey, white and pinks. However, my mind has been changed after seeing the gorgeous items available on the High St for SS18. Yellow represents a sense of freshness and a sign of the coming Summer months. It isn’t a colour I’ve traditionally been drawn towards much in the past for no other reason than I thought it was too bright for me. I remember buying a yellow boyfriend jumper from United Colors of Benetton back in my uni days but it’s not a colour that has appealed to me since.

Styling Yellow
As the colour is so bright, I like to pair it with white jeans to make it pop and it shouts ‘Summer is here!’. I recommend the River Island ‘Molly’ white jeggings and wear these constantly during the warmer months.
To tone it down a bit, wear it with blue jeans.
I bought a few jumpers from Mint Velvet recently as I liked the style and playfulness.The grey jumper has a gorgeous palm motif on the front and yellow trim on the sleeves- great for adding a subtle pop of colour without going full-on yellow.
The ‘Oui, Non’ top is as yellow as it comes with only the wording on the sleeves in white.
How gorgeous is this bargain Broderie Anglaise cold-shoulder top from River Island below?! It was reduced to £20, was the last one left in-store and it just so happened to be in my size, luck was on my side that day.
The detail on the bell sleeve is stunning.
